Soft2Bet has struck a licensing partnership with World Poker Tour to launch WPT Royale, a WPT-branded online sportsbook and casino in Ontario. The product is set to combine casino and sports betting under the look and feel of the poker tour’s brand.

According to Covers, the launch will run on Soft2Bet’s existing Ontario software infrastructure, with compliance controls, player protection, payments and managed operations already built in. Soft2Bet said the debut is planned for the coming months, but only after regulatory approval.

The venture will also use Soft2Bet’s Motivational Engineering Gaming Application, or MEGA, technology. MEGA is built around gamification, and one example, MEGA Clawee, turns standard bonuses into a 3D claw-machine style experience.

Covers said MEGA Clawee helped Soft2Bet win Industry Innovation of the Year at the SBC Awards Europe 2026. The company has also said its MEGA products increased screen time by 400% compared with the previous year.

Andrew Cochrane said the arrangement gives WPT a branded presence in Ontario through a platform and licence structure already built for the local market. He called the deal a logical next step for Soft2Bet, which also powers the Ontario-regulated iGaming operator ToonieBet.

World Poker Tour is bringing a long-established brand to the new offering. Covers said the tour has spent more than 20 years building one of poker’s most recognisable names, has televised high-stakes tournaments and events in 150 countries, and has awarded more than $1.5 billion in prize money worldwide.

Quyen Nguyen said WPT Royale marks an expansion beyond poker into casino and sportsbook verticals. He said Soft2Bet stood out in a competitive evaluation process for its technology, operational expertise and track record.

Ontario is the immediate market for the launch, and the province’s regulated iGaming sector is already substantial. Cochrane cited iGaming Ontario’s latest market performance report, which showed 34% year-on-year revenue growth and revenue above CAD $4 billion.

A separate piece by Troy Media’s Elsa Fiott described Ontario as the only province in Canada to operate a competitive, regulated iGaming market. She said the sector supports thousands of positions across technology, compliance, marketing, payments, customer service and media, and noted that Ontario reached a channelization rate of 86.4% in 2024.

Soft2Bet’s own recent performance provides further backdrop to the deal. Covers said the company reported 88% year-over-year revenue growth in 2025 and a 96% increase in EBITDA, while also saying it has developed more than 12,500 games.

Soft2Bet says WPT Royale should debut in the coming months, once the necessary filings are complete and regulators sign off.
