Ontario’s latest monthly iGaming reporting showed record wagering in May, although different outlets quoted different revenue totals for the same month. iGaming Ontario’s May Market Performance Report put wagers at C$8.37 billion, gross gaming revenue at C$338 million and active player accounts at about 1.1 million. Separate coverage of the same month said Ontario’s overall legal iGaming handle reached C$9.48 billion, with online casinos accounting for 88% of wagers and total gross gaming revenue at C$413.1 million.
According to Sports Gambling Podcast, Ontario has become the only Canadian province to publish comprehensive monthly reports on its regulated online gambling market. The province has done so since the competitive market launched on 4 April 2022, releasing detailed monthly figures on wagering, revenue and player activity.
The iGaming Ontario report page says the market performance report is updated each month with data from the previous calendar month. It covers all iGaming Ontario operators with gaming websites that had trading activity during the period, and includes all eligible games offered under operating agreements with the agency. The report excludes OLG’s separate iGaming offering and pari-mutuel wagering on horseracing, and its numbers are unaudited and subject to adjustment.
SportsLine said May’s Ontario iGaming handle was 17% higher than a year earlier and the fourth-highest monthly total since the market launched. It also said March remained the wagering high at C$9.59 billion and December 2025 was the province’s revenue record month at C$425.6 million. In the same May figures, SportsLine put online casino bets at C$8.37 billion and online casino gross gaming revenue at C$326.4 million, describing that as a provincial record for May revenue.
