WPT Global has introduced a new and fun format to its app called Poker Flips. An interesting crossover between poker and casino table games, Poker Flips offers a lot of entertainment value, as no actual strategy is required, but there are some big wins up for grabs.

On top of this, to celebrate the launch of the new game, WPT Global is running unique weekly leaderboards with cash prizes and a monthly leaderboard that will see five top finishers win a $12,400 tournament package for the WPT World Championship event in December.

The tournament will take place at the Wynn, Las Vegas, featuring the largest-ever guarantee in live poker, with organizers promising a $15,000,000 prize pool. The buy-in of $10,400 is rather steep, so the Poker Flips leaderboard could be a fun way for Canadian players to win their seats at a significant discount.

What is Poker Flips?

As mentioned, Poker Flips is a crossover between heads-up poker and classic table games of chance, like roulette. While the game focuses on poker, players themselves only need to decide where they want to place their bets. There are no future decisions or strategy considerations beyond this point.

Players place their bets on one of two virtual opponents — the Cowboy and the Bull — who are engaged in a never-ending heads-up match. At the start of each new hand, the betting opens, and players have different options available to them:

  • Cowboy or Bull Wins
  • Tie
  • Predict anyone’s hand (a pair, suited connectors, pair of aces)
  • Predict a winning hand (high card, two pair, flush, straight, trips, full house, quads, straight flush)

Odds vary depending on the pick. For a straight-up winner, players are given 2.02 to 1 odds; the tie bet has 22 to 1 odds; a bet that a winning hand will be quads or better has 248 to 1 odds. As mentioned, no skill is involved, as every hand is randomly generated, and there is no way to predict any of the cards.

Poker Flips WPT Leaderboards

To put the new format in the spotlight and generate some buzz around it, WPT Global is running special Poker Flips leaderboards. Players are rewarded for participating and making winning bets, with bonuses for those who play several days in a row.

Weekly leaderboards award $12,000 in cash each week, distributed to the top five finishers. The winner gets $5000, the runner-up collects $2500, while the remaining three players receive $2000, $1500, and $1000, respectively.

However, the monthly leaderboard, running until Sep 24, is the most generous one, awarding five packages to the WPT World Championship tournament, each worth $12,400. Besides the $10,400 buy-in, all winners will receive $2000 in spending money, branded merchandise, and a special WPT Global player experience in Las Vegas.

Players must take part in Poker Flips games and make correct picks to collect points for the leaderboard. There are leaderboard points multipliers that increase based on the pick difficulty. For example, selecting a winner will only award the number of points equal to the dollar amount wagered. However, betting on a full house, quads, or better, will add a 15x or 100x multiplier to the total score.

There are activity bonuses as well for playing Poker Flips on consecutive days, namely:

  • 3 days in a row — 50 points
  • 5 days in a row — 200 points
  • 7 days in a row — 400 points

All players from Canada interested in trying to win a Championship seat or just wanting to give Poker Flips a try are welcome to do so. WPT Global accepts all Canadian players except those living in Ontario. Download the WPT Global App and start playing!
