Alberta’s gambling regulator has approved Bally Bet Sportsbook and Casino and Monopoly Casino and Sportsbook for launch in the province, adding two Bally’s brands to the Alberta iGaming Corporation’s website and bringing the number of approved operators to 26.
The two brands had already been open for pre-registration ahead of Alberta’s July 13 market opening. That launch made Alberta the second Canadian province to regulate iGaming, after Ontario’s market opened in April 2022.
Monopoly Casino, launched in 2016, is offered only through Bally’s. The platform features Monopoly-themed live-dealer games, slot machines, bingo and a broad catalogue of other titles.
Bally Bet Canada sits under Bally’s wider gaming umbrella, which includes retail and online casinos and a sportsbook. The company says Bally Bet Canada has 20 land-based locations across 11 U.S. states, and Bally Bet is live in both Alberta and Ontario.
Alberta is trying to move players away from unregulated gambling sites. AiGC has said roughly 70% of online gaming in the province happens on unregulated platforms, and that its main goal is to shift customers into a secure, locally governed market equipped with responsible gaming tools.
Ontario remains the clearest benchmark for the new market. In the year to March 31, 2026, its regulated iGaming market generated more than CAD 4.2 billion in revenue from more than CAD 103 billion in wagers.
