Amusnet Gaming has won a conditional licence from Alberta’s gaming regulator to supply online gaming content to licensed operators in the province. The approval gives the company a regulated route into Alberta’s newly opened iGaming market and broadens its Canadian footprint.
As reported in July, Alberta opened its regulated iGaming market on 13 July and has been issuing approvals as the system develops. The Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission, known as AGLC, oversees registration and compliance for operators and suppliers, and its licensing rules require firms to meet standards on regulatory compliance, technology, security, integrity and responsible gaming.
Focus Gaming News reported that the Alberta approval is an important milestone in Amusnet’s North American expansion strategy. The company said the licence shows it can meet Alberta’s requirements and gives it the regulatory credentials needed for future operations in the province.
Amusnet had already entered Ontario earlier in the year, and the Alberta approval further strengthens its position in Canada. Julia Peeva-Sertov, the company’s chief executive, said the move marks another step in the company’s North America expansion plan and reflects its commitment to regulatory compliance and integrity.
Peeva-Sertov also said Amusnet looks forward to exploring opportunities in Alberta, building partnerships and bringing its portfolio to another regulated market. The company described Alberta as an important jurisdiction in its long-term North American strategy, with a regulatory base it sees as useful for future growth.
