Bede Gaming said on 30 July that it had achieved GLI-19 and GLI-33 certification, with eCOGRA testing and certifying its platform. The dual approval covers interactive gaming systems and event wagering systems, putting the supplier in a stronger position for regulated online casino and sportsbook markets.
The company said the certifications should help it move faster into jurisdictions that use the GLI framework, especially in North America. The reporting noted that many US states reference GLI-19 and GLI-33 as the baseline technical framework for iGaming approval, while jurisdictions that adopt the standards can rely on reduced delta testing for local requirements.
GLI-19 covers player account management, platform security, operational controls, game integrations and the core technology stack used in regulated online casino operations. GLI-33 sets out technical requirements for sportsbook and online betting platforms.
According to GLI’s own standard document, GLI-19 is intended to remove subjective criteria from the analysis and certification of interactive gaming systems, while helping ensure gaming is fair, secure and auditable. The document also says operators and suppliers must provide documentation, credentials and access to a production-equivalent test environment for independent laboratory evaluation.
Bede linked the new certifications to its wider compliance base. Gerrard Thompson, the company’s head of risk and compliance, said the certifications, together with its existing ISO 27001 and WLA-SCS credentials, provide “absolute clarity” on the maturity of its platform, processes and governance controls, and show regulators and prospective customers that its technology has been independently assessed against rigorous standards.
He also said the certifications matter “especially” in North America, where regulatory expectations are high and speed to market matters. Aoife Nic Chuirc, eCOGRA’s head of sales, said Bede’s commitment to quality and compliance was clear from the outset and that the work had been recognised with the certifications.
The announcement comes after Bede said in March that the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis board had declared it suitable to hold a conditional one-year iGaming Goods or Services Supplier licence when Alberta’s regulated gambling market opens later in 2026. That same March update said Alberta began accepting registrations in January and that Bede was ready to serve operators when the province’s market goes live.
