GiG Software has extended its PowerPlay partnership to Alberta, making the supplier the technology provider for PowerPlay Online Casino & Sportsbook in both of the operator’s Canadian provinces.

The Alberta deployment is GiG’s first rollout of its sportsbook platform in the province and makes PowerPlay its fourth active Alberta client. GiG provides player account management, its SportX sportsbook, the RulesX rules engine and DataX, an AI-driven data engine.

PowerPlay’s Alberta offering combines SportX with its full casino product. The operator said the service gives Albertans a regulated local option and supports instant Interac withdrawals.

The expansion builds on the companies’ Ontario relationship, where PowerPlay began using the same GiG software in 2025. PowerPlay’s wider Ontario market entry dates to 2022, while its Alberta presence added a second regulated Canadian province.

As we reported last week, PowerPlay had launched its Alberta online sportsbook after completing provincial onboarding. The latest announcement identifies the platform supplier behind that operation and marks GiG’s first sportsbook deployment in the newly regulated market.

Alberta opened its commercial iGaming and sports-betting market on July 13 under Bill 48, the iGaming Alberta Act, ending PlayAlberta’s previous position as the province’s only regulated online option. PowerPlay was among roughly 22 real-money operators available on the market’s first day, according to Bonus.

The Alberta platform offers betting across more than 40 sports categories, as well as a casino library of more than 1,200 games and a round-the-clock live-dealer section. Its sportsbook includes NHL, CFL, NFL, NBA, MLB and soccer markets, with live betting and same-game parlays.

The supplier recently also powered Casino Time’s Alberta launch, underscoring its early presence among operators entering the province.
