Midnite has hired Dale Tang, a former FanDuel Canada senior director, to lead its launch in Canada. He will be based in Toronto and is set to oversee the company’s entry across Ontario and other regulated provinces.
Tang confirmed the move on LinkedIn, saying he had joined Midnite to lead its Canadian launch. He spent five years with FanDuel Canada, most recently as senior director for commercial, analytics and retention, after earlier senior roles at the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and consulting work for BDO Canada.
In his post, Tang said he joined FanDuel Canada in its earliest days and described leaving as “anything but easy.”
The hiring fits a broader push by the UK-based challenger brand, which reporting describes as Midnite’s first international expansion beyond its home market. A recent recruitment posting outlined a casino go-to-market plan across Canada, including Ontario and future regulated provinces, while other reporting said the business is not yet licensed in Ontario or Alberta.
The appointment also follows Midnite’s $35 million Series C funding round earlier in 2026. Dealroom said the round was led by Raine Partners IV, while other reporting said it took Midnite’s total equity funding above $75 million.
That fundraising came after earlier rounds, including a $10 million Series B in 2025 and a $16 million Series A in 2022, according to one account. Midnite has also secured a separate $100 million credit facility, and the company said the capital would support its first international expansion.
