SlotsUp Launches Canadian Portal for Provincial Casino and Payment Rules

SlotsUp has launched SlotsUp Canada, a dedicated information portal covering regulated online casinos, provincial licensing requirements, payment methods and market developments affecting Canadian players. The site is designed to bring together information that is otherwise dispersed across multiple sources, while reflecting differences between provincial markets.

According to the company’s launch announcement, the portal offers province-specific pages and interactive filters to examine local markets and casino options. Its reviews assess publicly available information on licensing, reputation, payment terms, customer support and player-protection measures. SlotsUp Canada is an information resource, rather than a gambling operator or a government registry.

The service covers local licensing, withdrawal terms, digital-payment options and safeguards for players. It also provides material on identity verification, known as KYC, payment-processing times, transaction limits and fees. Available payment methods can differ by operator and may include Canadian-dollar transactions, Interac and, where permitted, digital assets.

SlotsUp stressed that payment availability does not alter an operator’s licensing status. It encourages users to verify a casino’s licence with the relevant provincial authority and to consult an operator’s current terms before using its services.

The launch comes as provincial regulation continues to evolve. Alberta has moved toward a regulated private online-gambling market beyond its earlier government-run model; before that regulated-market launch, unregulated operators accounted for roughly 70% of provincial online-gambling activity, according to the company’s announcement.

Ontario illustrates the scale of a competitive regulated market. It opened its regulated online-gambling market in April 2022 and recorded CA$82.7 billion in online wagers in the 2024-25 fiscal year, up 31% year on year, according to iGaming Business. The market generated CA$2.4 billion in revenue and included 84 websites run by 49 licensed operators during that period.

SlotsUp Canada also plans to track federal stablecoin rules alongside provincial gambling developments. Canada’s proposed framework would regulate fiat-backed stablecoin issuance by non-financial institutions, including reserve, redemption, data-security and governance requirements. It would cover domestic and foreign issuers making such stablecoins available to Canadians, with the Bank of Canada set to supervise relevant issuers.

The federal framework would not license online casinos, since gambling licensing and payment rules are separate. Stablecoin issuers would be required to hold reserves at least equal to the value of coins minted and would be subject to anti-money-laundering and anti-terrorist-financing rules. The government expects the framework to come into force in 2027 after 12 to 18 months of regulatory development from early 2026.
