TitanPlay has secured RG Check accreditation for its Ontario sportsbook, a responsible-gambling mark from the Responsible Gambling Council that examines player protection, employee training, self-exclusion, responsible marketing and operational governance. The platform uses Delasport technology, and TitanPlay has also made use of Delasport’s Managed Services. Its overall result was reported as 80% in one account and as more than 80% in another, comfortably above the 70% threshold required for certification.
Reporting on the accreditation said RG Check involves extensive scrutiny of operators’ policies, systems, operations and staff practices. The programme is built around nine standards and 48 criteria, covering site and product design, marketing communications and help for players who may be experiencing harm.
Sarah McCarthy, the council’s chief executive, said the accreditation reflects a real commitment to player protection. She said TitanPlay and Delasport met RG Check’s rigorous standards, giving players stronger safeguards, better information and clearer access to support. Delasport’s chief compliance officer, Filippo Ferri, called the result a strong validation of the systems, processes and expertise built into the company’s platform and managed-services offering.
Ontario has already made RG Check part of the structure of its online gambling market. In 2022, the council said the accreditation programme had been embedded in the requirements for all igaming operators entering the province through iGaming Ontario, and said the launch on 4 April that year showed a commitment by the province, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and iGO to place responsible gambling at the centre of the market.
The council has also said RG Check was developed in 2010 with policy makers, operators, players and people with lived experience of gambling harm. In a separate development, Alberta’s iGaming Corporation said RG Check would be mandatory for operators seeking to enter its regulated online gambling framework, a move described as closely mirroring Ontario’s model.
