GGPoker.ca, in association with WSOP, has launched the Road to Vegas campaign in Ontario, offering players a chance to win a seat at the Main Event and running WSOP 2023 satellites.

Much like the campaign taking place for international players on the GGPoker platform, the Road to Vegas Ontario edition offers a package that includes a seat to the pinnacle event, travel expenses and other perks.

The campaign begins on Sunday, March 19 and qualifiers on the GGPoker Ontario app are already underway, starting at just CAD $15.

GGPoker Ontario Road to Vegas: Key Facts

  • GGPoker Ontario to launch the Road to Vegas campaign on Sunday, March 19.
  • Qualifiers on the GGPoker Ontario app start at CAD $15.
  • CAD $1.35 million bonus prize is offered to any player who qualifies or directly buy-ins to the WSOP 2023 Main Event.
  • Two packages are guaranteed to be given away on the opening day via a CAD $1175 direct satellite.
  • The WSOP 2023 Main Event takes place from May 30 to July 18.

But the biggest highlight of the promotion is the CAD $1.35 million bonus (equivalent to $1 million USD) that the operator has promised to any player who qualifies or directly buy-ins to the WSOP 2023 Main Event via GGPoker.ca platform and wears a GGPoker patch throughout the tournament.

This bonus prize of CAD $1.35 million will be on top of the first-place prize of the WSOP Main Event.

“I can’t believe it’s time to start thinking about the WSOP Main Event again – the most exciting live tournament in the world, without a doubt!” said Daniel Negreanu, GGPoker Brand Ambassador in a press release.

“I’ll be there in July dreaming of Main Event glory, just like thousands and thousands of other players, whether professionals like me or amateurs playing their first big event.”

In the international platform on GGPoker, the operator has committed to awarding 500 seats with the aim to make this year’s WSOP Main Event the largest ever. A further 100 seats will be given away on the operator’s subscription-based social poker site ClubGG.net.

On top of the 600-seat giveaway, GGPoker has also planned additional WSOP packages to be given away via promotions, the operator confirmed to pokerfuse. However, the details of it are not known yet but are expected to be unveiled in the coming days.

It is unknown how many packages will be given away on the GGPoker Ontario platform across this entire campaign. However, on the opening day, two packages are guaranteed to be given away via a CAD $1175 direct satellite.

Each WSOP 2023 Main Event package on GGPoker Ontario is worth CAD $16,200 and includes:

  • CAD $13,500 WSOP 2023 Main Event seat
  • Accommodation at the Horseshoe Las Vegas Hotel & Casino for seven nights
  • CAD $1350 for travel expenses (credited to each player’s GGPoker account)
  • CAD $1,350,000 million as a bonus if a GGPoker Ontario qualifier ends up winning the Main Event
  • GGPoker-branded merchandise & gifts
  • Access to the GGPoker Platinum Lounge

This will be the third year in a row that GGPoker has run online satellites to help players qualify for the world’s richest poker tournament. However, this will be the first time the Road to Vegas campaign is being run on the Ontario platform.

Last year, Espen Jorstad from Norway, who won his way to the Main via qualifier on GGPoker, went on to win the event and win a life-changing $10 million prize money. Jorstad won his way via a $1050 buy-in satellite.

WSOP & GGPoker will be hoping for a similar result this year. Should a GGPoker.ca or GGPoker.com qualifier take down the Main, they are guaranteed to take home an additional 1 million in USD.

This year’s World Series returns to the Las Vegas Strip at the Horseshoe Las Vegas & Paris Las Vegas from May 30 to July 18. The $10K WSOP 2023 Main Event commences on Monday, July 3.
