It is official! The World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) is making its way to Toronto for the first time in its history. Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto looks set to schedule the historic WSOP Toronto festival starting March 22.

As first reported by pokerfuse, the full schedule for the first WSOPC festival in Toronto has now been released. The host casino partnered with the WSOP sponsor GGPoker, and the two have created a festival worthy of the WSOPC brand.

Among the eight WSOPC Ring events, players will get a chance to play a $2,000 Main Event, $3,500 High Roller, and a variety of other events with lower buyins and different game formats.

Here is a quick look at the full WSOPC Toronto schedule:

  • March 22: WSOPC Event #1 – $250 NLH Turbo
  • March 23: WSOPC Event #2 – $1,000 NLH
  • March 24: WSOPC Event #3 – $600 NLH 6-Max
  • March 25: WSOPC Event #4 – $400 NLH Deepstack
  • March 26: WSOPC Event #5 – $250 NLH
  • March 27: WSOPC Event #6 – $600 NLH
  • March 28 — 30: WSOPC Event #7 – $2,000 Main Event
  • April 1: WSOPC Event #8 – $3,500 High Roller

Much like New Jersey and Pennsylvania online poker have impacted the development of the industry in their jurisdictions, the Ontario online poker operators are now showing a clear impact on the industry in the Canadian province, as this is the first time we are seeing a major poker tour play out in Toronto in a long time.

“We’re happy to announce that @GreatCanadianTO will host their first-ever Circuit series between March 22 – April 1,” the official WSOP posted on Twitter.

Daniel Negreanu Excited About WSOPC Toronto

All players thinking about going to play in the first WSOPC Toronto festival will be glad to hear that playing there means potentially sitting across the felt from Daniel Negreanu, the greatest Canadian poker player who ever lived.

Daniel Negreanu, who is a GGPoker Ambassador, is a Toronto native, and his first steps in the game were taken in this exact city.

Daniel could not hide his excitement to play in the first WSOPC event in Toronto, saying in the official press release “I have been playing WSOP events worldwide for over 25 years. There is something special about being able to finally compete in one in my hometown.”

The six-time WSOP bracelet winner will join a host of other poker celebrities who are guaranteed to show up for the event as GGPoker teams up with the host casino to ensure the festival is a true poker extravaganza.

Daniel has had success playing live poker in Canada before, as he won the 2008 British Colombia Poker Championship, and will be looking to repeat this success and capture his second WSOPC ring this March.

Win Your WSOPC Toronto Seats Online at GGPoker

Throwing live poker events without strong online poker partners is not easy. Fortunately, WSOPC Toronto has the best partner possible in GGPoker, a brand that offers its services both internationally and locally via GGPoker Ontario.

Ontarians will have a chance to win their WSOPC Toronto seats via GGPoker Ontario, the biggest online poker site in the newly regulated igaming market.

Players from other provinces who are considering traveling out to Toronto to play, will be able to play on the global GGPoker platform and also win their seats to the Main Event.

GGPoker is the official online poker partner for the entire WSOP brand, and has sent thousands of players to both the WSOP festival in Las Vegas and WSOPC festivals all over America and the world throughout the years.

This time around, Canadian players will have plenty of chances to win seats in the $2,000 Main Event, with buyins starting at the lowest of stakes, allowing everyone a chance to potentially win a seat and make their poker dream come true.

GGPoker is also sending hundreds of players to the Main Event of the 2024 WSOP series, to run from May to July in Las Vegas, Nevada.
