Earlier this week, Team GGPoker welcomed a new addition in Alexandra Valeria Botez, a world-famous chess streamer whose interests have been turning towards poker more and more in recent months.

Ever since making her first poker appearance on the Hustler Casino Live show, Botez has been enchanted with poker, which led to GGPoker showing interest in this young Canadian superstar.

Alexandra was welcomed to the team by Daniel Negreanu, GGPoker’s leading ambassador, who shares a lot with the young chess champion, as they both come from Romanian-Canadian families.

The two shared some friendly banter over a game of heads-up No Limit Hold’em, which was recorded in full and made available on the operator’s YouTube channel.

Daniel Negreanu Shows Botez the Ropes

By her own admission, Alexandra Botez is an inexperienced poker player who has a lot to learn and is just at the start of her poker career.

Her incredible success in the world of chess has made her famous around the world, and she is now attempting to use the same skillset to learn the game of poker and succeed in a brand new environment.

Fellow Canadian Daniel Negreanu will be there to show her the ropes, as he has been doing from day one of her joining the operator.

Daniel and Alexandra played a friendly game of heads-up poker, in which the six-time WSOP champion was happy to share plenty of tips even as they played and the chips went back and forth.

The two talked about a variety of topics, ranging from their shared European roots to game integrity at GGPoker, a burning topic that’s been actively discussed in the poker circles for some months.

As she joins GGPoker, Botez will be looking to promote the game and share it with her mainstream audience, as well as promote the game with female players who are already a part of the poker world but may be looking for a little extra push from a successful lady like Alexandra.

With the help of Negreanu, as well as her coaches Landon Tice and Chance Kornuth, Botez will be looking to take her game to a new level and dominate in tournament poker fields in the years to come, all under the sponsorship of the world’s biggest online poker brand.

Expect to See Botez at the WSOP

With just months to go before the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP), Alexandra Botez will no doubt be doing her best to prepare for the festivities.

GGPoker, along with WSOP US, will be the main online poker sponsors for the Series, which means the entire team of poker ambassadors will be heavily involved with the festival.

As the newest member, and one with a very strong online following, Alexandra will likely be playing more events than she did in the past, and create plenty of unique content revolving around the WSOP.

If you are a fan of Alexandra’s content already, expect to see more great stuff coming this summer, and if you are not yet familiar with her, we recommend checking her chess channel BotezLive and her poker channel Alexandra Botez to get introduced with the entertaining content she regularly dishes out via the internet.
