Games Global has secured registration from the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission, giving the supplier a route into Alberta’s regulated iGaming market and widening its regulated Canadian footprint beyond Ontario.
As reported in July, Alberta opened its regulated iGaming market on 13 July, and the province has been building out approvals since then. On the AGLC’s iGaming page, the regulator says operators must be registered with AGLC and have signed a commercial agreement with the Alberta iGaming Corporation before they can conduct and manage a legally registered platform in the province.
Games Global said the Alberta approval will allow it to supply iGaming content to licensed operators and distribute its portfolio in the province. The rollout will include slot franchises Gold Blitz, 12 Masks of Fire and Fishin’ Pots of Gold. Live casino tables already distributed in Canada through the company’s exclusive partner, OnAir Entertainment, will also be available to Alberta operators from launch.
The company’s chief commercial officer, Mark MacCombie, called Alberta’s opening an important opportunity and pointed to Games Global’s established presence in Ontario, where its content has already resonated with players. He also said North America remains a key strategic focus and that the company will keep working with operator partners and exclusive studios across regulated markets.
Alberta’s market has continued to fill out since launch. EuropeanGaming reported that more than 50 brands had been licensed to operate in the province, while 22 operator sites were live at market launch.
