Spintec has secured a gaming-related supplier licence in Ontario after the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario approved its application, giving the company a regulatory foothold in the Canadian province.
The company worked with Bet Rite during the licensing process, according to G3 Newswire. Goran Sovilj, Spintec’s chief commercial officer, said the approval would strengthen that partnership and support the company’s North American presence.
Spintec described Ontario as a tightly regulated market with significant growth potential. The licence follows what the company called a lengthy and rigorous application process, and it characterises the approval as an important foothold for its expansion plans.
The AGCO is the provincial Crown agency responsible for regulating gaming activity in Ontario and administers the Gaming Control Act, 1992. Its responsibilities include licensing and registration, inspections, investigations and enforcement. Ontario’s gaming sector includes land-based casinos, lottery products, racetrack slots, charitable gaming and internet gaming.
The province has continued to draw regulated suppliers. BETER obtained an Ontario supplier registration to provide esports betting content to licensed operators, as we reported in October.
Spintec announced a separate federal gaming-related vendor licence in the United Arab Emirates at the same time. That licence, issued by the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority, permits the company to establish vendor relationships with commercial gaming operators licensed by the UAE regulator. Spintec said it was among the first electronic gaming-machine producers to hold such a federal licence in the Emirates.
