Betsson completed its acquisition of Rhino Entertainment Group’s Canadian B2C operations and related technology assets on 3 August, bringing Casino Days into its portfolio and restoring a direct consumer presence in Ontario.
The deal, first announced in March, carried a total price of €64.5 million, or about US$74.3 million. Betsson said €51.25 million was to be paid at closing, with the remainder due six months later, and that it would fund the purchase with existing cash resources.
The acquisition also included Rhino’s proprietary front-end and middleware technology. Betsson said that technology would strengthen its B2B business and could generate incremental licensing revenue.
In March, the company described the target as a business that already serves Canadian customers and is positioned to expand into additional provinces as local regulation evolves. Betsson also said the transaction fit its strategy of investing in B2C markets while growing its B2B arm.
Betsson entered the province through its Betsafe brand in February 2023, but the Betsafe Ontario site went dark on 31 March 2026 with a notice that the app would be temporarily unavailable. Betsafe is no longer listed in iGaming Ontario’s database of licensed operators.
Rhino Entertainment Group owns and operates Casino Days, which launched in Ontario in February 2023, along with Big Boost and Lucky Spins. Outside Ontario, Rhino’s brands operate across Canada under licences from the Kahnawake Gaming Commission in Quebec’s Kahnawake Mohawk Territory.
Casino Days also went live in Alberta on 13 July as part of the province’s initial wave of 22 licensed gambling platforms in its newly regulated iGaming market.
