Ontario iGaming Revenue Reaches C$416.3 Million as Active Accounts Set Record

Ontario’s regulated online gambling market generated C$416.3 million in non-adjusted gross gaming revenue in September, its second-highest monthly total on record. Cash wagers reached C$9.71 billion, while active player accounts rose to a record 1.413 million.

Revenue rose 5% from C$396.3 million in August and 26.2% from September 2025. Only December 2025, when revenue reached C$425.6 million, produced a higher monthly total. As reported in September, Ontario’s August revenue had risen despite a monthly decline in wagering and player activity.

The iGaming Ontario report, updated Oct. 28, showed September cash wagers were unchanged month over month but 13.6% higher than a year earlier. The blended market hold, measured as non-adjusted gross gaming revenue divided by cash wagers, was 4.29%.

The 1.413 million active-account total was 17% above August and 20.1% higher year over year. It was the market’s highest figure since Ontario’s regulated online market began in April 2022, although the measure counts accounts rather than unique people because a customer can hold accounts with multiple operators.

Average revenue per active account fell 10% from August to C$295, despite rising 5.4% from a year earlier. The report estimated that active accounts equated to roughly 11% of Ontario residents aged 15 and over, while stressing that this was an upper-bound estimate because of multiple-account holders.

Casino remained the market’s principal revenue source. It generated a record C$340.8 million, or 82% of September revenue, from C$8.5 billion in wagers. Casino wagers fell 3% from August, but revenue was 22.7% above the prior year.

Betting generated C$69.1 million in revenue from C$1.07 billion in wagers. Both figures rose 27% from August, and betting revenue was 47.3% higher than the C$46.9 million reported in September 2025. Operators retained about 6.4% of betting wagers, compared with about 4.4% a year earlier.

Peer-to-peer poker contributed C$6.4 million in revenue from C$130 million in wagers. Poker wagers rose 14% month over month, while the vertical accounted for about 2% of total market revenue.

For the July-to-September fiscal second quarter, Ontario’s market produced C$1.23 billion in revenue, up 25.7% year over year. Over the 12 months through September, the market recorded C$113.54 billion in cash wagers and C$4.78 billion in non-adjusted gross gaming revenue.

The monthly figures cover eligible games offered by operators holding agreements with iGaming Ontario. They exclude Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp.’s online offering and pari-mutuel horse-racing wagers, and the data are unaudited and subject to adjustment.
