DAZN Bet has launched in Alberta, extending its Canadian rollout after opening in Ontario on July 1. The move adds another brand to Alberta’s newly regulated online gambling market, which is still filling out after launch.

Gaming News Canada said DAZN Bet is already established in the UK, Germany, Italy and Spain. The outlet quoted chief executive Valery Gelfman as saying Canada values integrity and responsible play, and that the company was entering Ontario with a product designed for long-term sustainability.

Gelfman also said DAZN Bet was committed to operating with a local mindset and a customer-centric approach. Those remarks came as the brand was presenting itself in a market where new entrants still see room to grow.

The Alberta launch sits alongside other recent operator entries in Ontario and Alberta. Hard Rock Bet launched in Ontario on July 22, and Entain said it was going live in Alberta with BetMGM, Sports Interaction and Party Casino.

Ontario has been open for more than four years and now has 48 operators offering 82 regulated gambling sites, according to Gaming News Canada. Alberta, which opened its regulated market on July 13, had 24 gambling sites, or 25 including AGLC’s PlayAlberta product, just 15 days after launch.

Separately, Covers reported that Alberta’s regulated market is opening with mandatory responsible-gaming safeguards, including self-exclusion tools and independent operator accreditation. The Alberta iGaming Corporation said in February that all operators entering the market must earn RG Check certification, and more launches are expected before its three-month grace period ends in mid-October.
