The 2022 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) is nearly complete with just the last week of action left to play out. Of course, among the games left in PokerStars flagship series are three levels of Main Event with a total of $12.5 million guaranteed.

Players have been grinding the series since the beginning of September and the action is slowly winding down, but there are still big prizes in the pipeline for the conclusion of this year’s WCOOP.

There are WCOOP events scheduled for each day for the next few days, but the big story in the final week is always the Main Event. In the case of WCOOP, PokerStars is offering three different Mains to cater to different bankroll levels.

The biggest will WCOOP 92-H: World Championship of NLHE which begins on Sep 25. The $10,300 buy-in game has $6 million guaranteed, but that won’t be the highest value Main Event on the schedule — WCOOP 92-L: $109 NLHE [NLHE Main Event] has $2.5 million guaranteed, which means every dollar of buy-in has $25,000 guaranteed for the low event.

Big Numbers So Far as Last Week Begins

So far, the 2022 WCOOP has seen some pretty impressive numbers. Over 680,000 entries have been recorded across the series so far, with almost $62 million in prizes paid out over almost 240 tournaments.

The biggest event so far in terms of attendance was WCOOP 28-L: $11 NLHE [Progressive KO], $150K Gtd. There were 17,689 entries for that game. This was over 700 entries more than the second place entry on the list, WCOOP 56-L: $5.50 NLHE [Progressive KO], $70K Gtd, which ended up attracting just shy of 17,000 entries.

The biggest prize pool to date came in the hugely successful WCOOP 62-M: $530 NLHE [Progressive KO, Sunday Million], $1M Gtd. The $1 million guaranteed game saw 3,223 entries for a prize pool of more than $1.6 million, an increase of over 60% on the guarantee.

From a national perspective, the quickly rising market of Brazil is still going strong as Brazilians have captured the most WCOOP titles so far in this series by quite a large margin. The south American nation has captured 50 WCOOP titles this year, which translates to just over 20% of all 2022 WCOOP events. The next closest country is the UK, with 22 titles so far, followed by Austria with 21 wins.

Three Mains to Close the Series

With nearly $62 million already awarded across the series, there is still plenty of prize money remaining before the end of the WCOOP 2022. The three Main Event games starting on Sep 25 will feature guarantees of $12.5 million in total.

  • $109 WCOOP 92-L Main Event Low – $2,500,000 guaranteed
  • $1,050 WCOOP 92-M Main Event Medium – $4,000,000 guaranteed
  • $10,300 WCOOP 92-H Main Event High – $6,000,000 guaranteed
