FanDuel Canada said it will bring its Casino and Sportsbook product to Alberta on July 13, pending regulatory approval, as the province opens its regulated iGaming market. Alberta residents aged 18 and older can already create an account at FanDuel.ca ahead of the launch.

The rollout is being paired with a renewed multi-year partnership with the Canadian Football League. FanDuel said the deal expands its presence beyond Ontario into Alberta and adds Casino as a new category alongside its existing sportsbook arrangement.

The company also said the 113th Grey Cup will be played on Nov. 15 at McMahon Stadium in Calgary, giving the Alberta expansion a prominent football backdrop.

FanDuel is also tying the launch to community giving. It said it will donate $50,000 to the A Dollar A Day Foundation for mental health programs in Alberta and $30,000 to the Canada Red Cross Emergency Management Program in Alberta.

The company said it has given $150,000 to A Dollar A Day over the past three years across Ontario and Alberta. It also holds the title sponsorship of the Cowboys Stampede Showdown Charity Poker Tournament, which has raised more than $1.3 million for the Calgary Stampede Foundation to date.

According to FanDuel, the 2026 edition of that tournament raised $260,000, a record for the event. The company also said it has an exclusive partnership with Light & Wonder to bring the Huff N’ Puff slot franchise to Alberta players, subject to regulatory clearance.

Alberta’s launch is taking place inside a new regulated market that the province says was built around player protection. Alberta.ca says unregulated online gambling is already widely available and estimates unregulated operators capture about 70% of the province’s total iGaming market.

The province says the Alberta iGaming Corporation will oversee the market while the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission serves as regulator. AGLC’s June 18 Standards and Requirements for Internet Gaming lay out compliance rules covering oversight, responsible gambling, supplier benchmarks and data security.

The Alberta government says AGLC has already begun registering operators and suppliers to prepare for market launch later in 2026. As of July 7, 49 operators had completed registration and paid their fees, while the rollout framework allows operators to advertise and sign up prospective customers but not add funds or take bets until the market opens.
